The EIRA, which is now in a pilot stage, aims at identifying risks for the energy sector, comparing countries’ risk profiles and proposing mitigating measures. By this new publication the Energy Charter Secretariat will contribute to lowering investment risks and eliminating barriers for scaling up investments in energy-related projects. The EIRA pilot publication will be presented during the Energy Charter Conference on 28-29 November 2017 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Ukraine is a contracting party to the Energy Charter Treaty and Member of the Energy Charter Conference. On the sidelines of the fact-finding mission, Ms Nataliya Boyko, Deputy Minister for European Integration of the Ministry of Energy of Coal Industry in Ukraine, Mr David Kramer and Mr Oleksandr Antonenko, representatives of the Energy Charter Secretariat, discussed further strengthening of ties between the International Energy Charter and Ukraine. Two potential pathways were identified; enhancing dialogue on modernization of the gas system and obtaining deeper insight in the country’s investment climate for energy, which will result in an in-depth report on the investment climate and market structure of Ukraine.
