The Secretariat is shortlisted for the 2019 FT Innovative Lawyers Awards

The Energy Charter Secretariat participated at the 2019 Colloquium on international law organized by the Asian Academy of International Law (AAIL) and the Chinese Society of International Law. The Colloquium attracted more than 200 participants, including those attending the 5th China-AALCO (Asian African Legal Consultative Organisation) Exchange and Research Programme on international law.

At a panel discussing the evolving instruments for global dispute resolution (including the International Commercial Courts, the 2019 Judgments Convention and the 2019 Singapore Convention), the Secretariat raised awareness on several tools of the International Energy Charter to facilitate effective investment mediation such as the 2016 Guide on Investment Mediation, the training for investment mediators (co-organised with ICSID, CEDR and IMI since 2017 –the next training will take place in Hong Kong at the end of October 2019 with the support of AAIL and the Department of Justice of Hong Kong SAR) and the 2018 Model Instrument on management of investment disputes.

The Energy Charter Secretariat has been recently shortlisted for the 2019 FT Innovative Lawyers Awards.
