At the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy he met with British Energy Diplomacy team lead by Ms Julia Nolan. The meeting discussion included current issues pertaining to the modernisation of the Energy Charter Treaty, the enlargement of the organisation, its quinquennial review as well as post-Brexit expectations.
At the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at the Queen Mary University of London, Dr Rusnák met with faculty members and students of the Energy Law Institute. He delivered a lecture about the ECT and future of power and renewable energy, which focused on the role and contribution of the Energy Charter Treaty to the energy transition. The lecture was followed by lively Q&A session.
Energy Charter Secretariat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Queen Mary University in 2016 and several QMUL alumni have joined the Secretariat as Interns, Fellows or Employees.
