Energy Charter Secretary-General Dr Urban Rusnák was present and took time to discuss important energy issues on the margins of the event. He met with African Union Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, Dr Amani Abou-Zeid, to brief on the progress of the Energy Charter CONEXO policy and preparation for upcoming events such as the Nigeria National Energy Summit in Abuja in July 2018.
Later, Dr Rusnák visited the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy for a consultation with the Director General of National and European Energy Policy, Dr Cristoph Reichle. On the second day of the conference, Dr Rusnák had a bilateral meeting with Mr Nobuo Tanaka, Chairman of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, former Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, and Special Envoy of the ECS Secretary General. He also met Korean Director-General of Climate Change, Energy, Environmental and Scientific Affairs, Mr Kwon Sei-joong and Dr Sun Xiansheng, Secretary-General of the International Energy Forum.
